Teams for the 2021/22 season
Orca Youth Rugby has teams for U8 coed, U10 coed, U12 coed, U14 boys.
Specific information for each age division is provided below.

U8 (Coed)
- Flag rugby for boys and girls with up to 7 players per side.
- Players must be 7 or younger before August 31 leading into the season.
- Two 15 minute halves.
- The primary purpose of rugby at this level is to introduce some core rugby skills: the catch and the pass.
- The program also builds teamwork and discipline.

U10 (Coed)
- Tackle rugby for boys and girls with up to 10 players per side.
- Players must be 9 or younger before August 31 leading into the season.
- Two 20 minute halves.
- Often their first experience in contact sports.
- Tackle is introduced in safe progression, to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment. Bumps and bruises are inevitable, but most parents will agree it is character building!

U12 (Coed)
- Tackle rugby for boys and girls with up to 12 players per side.
- Players must be 11 or younger before August 31 leading into the season.
- Two 20 minute halves.
- Plays full contact rugby: tackles, rucks, mauls, and scrums. Starts introducing more strategic rugby, while continuing to build on key fundamentals: catching, passing, and safe tackling.

U14 (Coed)
- Separate boys and girls teams at this age group and up.
- Tackle rugby for boys with the traditional 15 players per side from this age group and up.
- Players must be 13 or younger before August 31 leading into the season.
- Two 25 minute halves, regulation field with goalposts.
- Increased skill development, while welcoming new players to the sport.
