Orca Rugby Season

Based in Ventura County, Orca Youth Rugby welcomes boys and girls ages 6–14 — from complete beginners to experienced players. Rugby builds strength, confidence, and teamwork, and we make sure every player has a place to belong.

👉 No experience needed. The first practice is always free to try.

Practices

  • Beginning October 28, 2025

  • Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays

  • Time: 6:00–7:30 PM

  • Location:  Channel Island High School, 1400 Raiders Way, Oxnard, CA 93033

Registration

Registration for the 2025/26 season is now open!

Players must complete two steps:

  1. Register with USA Rugby (national governing body + insurance).

  2. Register with Orca Youth Rugby through the league portal (SCYR).

Game Schedule

  • Season: Spring 2026

  • League: Southern California Youth Rugby (SCYR) SoCal Division

  • Opponents: Clubs such as Pasadena, Santa Monica, Rising Eagles, and Los Angeles.

  • Details: Final dates, opponents, and locations will be published once SCYR finalizes the schedule.

Safety first

We teach our players the skills and techniques that keep our sport safe and we never play if safety cannot be ensured (poor pitch, unsafe weather etc).

Fun

Playing rugby is one of the best experiences that a child can have.  Everyone plays, everyone contributes, everyone has fun.

Teamwork

Scores are created by the team, wins are celebrated by the team, and we support each other in everything we do.

Respect

Create a sense of respect for the game, the players, and the referee.  There is no tolerance for talking back to the referee or showing disrespect to other players.
